DP World is owned by Port & Free Zone World, a subsidiary of Dubai World, a government-owned holding company with investments in several industry sectors, mainly related to international trade.

DP World shares jump 12.16%

Shares of container port operator DP World regained 12.16% at Nasdaq Dubai on higher volumes. Jewellery trader Damas continued to slide, losing 10.03%. According to bloomberg, jewellery sales dropped by 40% in May in Dubai, while luxury sales in general plummeted by almost half.

DP world assumes second 30-year operating concession in Algeria

Global marine terminal operator DP World has formally taken over operations at the Port of Djen Djen, now DP World Djen Djen, in accordance with a 30-year operating concession signed early last month.

DP World price estimate cut

Morgan Stanley has cut its price estimate for Dubai-based DP World by 59% to $0.32. 'The market is underestimating the depth and duration of the container port downturn, particularly in the Middle East,' analysts wrote in a report today.
