Gladding-Hearn Shipbuilding, the Duclos Corporation, of Somerset, Massachusetts, has designed and built high quality commercial vessels since 1955, GLADDING-HEARN is renowned for its ability to design and build unique and specialized craft, such as pilot boats, fire boats, tug boats, various types of fast ferries, whale watch catamarans and other distinctive types of vessels. The company has delivered more than 340 vessels since 1955. In 1987, GLADDING-HEARN delivered its first INCAT designed high speed catamaran. Since then, the company has built more than 30 passenger vessels, including 28 fast catamarans. The company works exclusively with INCAT Designs of Sydney, Australia, developing high speed catamaran designs. In addition to fast catamarans, GLADDING-HEARN has constructed more than 55 pilot boats for various pilot associations around the United States and abroad. Pilot boats are designed in conjunction with C. Raymond Hunt Associates of Boston, MA, the developer of the Deep-V hull. GLADDING-HEARN is recognized as the premiere pilot boat builder in the US.
